From "Tidewaters of Virginia" Mary (Mumford) DeJarnatt lived until 176 5. Her will is probated in St. Patrick's Parish, Prince Edward County , VA on August 19, 1765. She left an estate valued at 12.7.6 pounds. M ary made Jacob McGehee her executor, and left him her feather bed wit h all the furniture and bedstead, and whatever belonged to her after h er decease. This may have been her way of repaying him for taking car e of her, or it may simply have been that had she left it to her daugh ter, it would have become his anyway. Mary signed her will with her Ma rk M.
A deposistion given by Mary indicated that she was born in 1683. Marym ust have been an unusually hearty soul, for she lived to be 82. She mu st have not been seriously ill prior to that time, for she did not mak e her will until April 24, 1765.
Mary married John DeJarnette in 1703 in Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., VA. (John DeJarnette was born about 1680 in France and died in Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., Virginia.)
