Sources: Tidewaters of Virginia" Elliot and Elizabeth lived at "Pine F orest" overlooking North East Creek, in Spotsylvannia County. He wasa Captain in the Infantry in 1814, and was the commanding officer of th e 13th Regiment.

Elliott and Elizabeth lived at "Pine Forest" overlooking the North Eas t Creek, in Spotsylvannia County. He was recognnized as a large plante r in the county and was appointed its sheriff. He was elected the trea surer of the county. Elliott died on September 7, 1857, and Elizabethd ied in August 25, 1863. They were buried in the family graveyard at "P ine Forest." The epitaph on Elliott's stone reads "Mark the perfect ma n and behold the upright. For the end of that man is peace." Elizabeth 's stone is inscribed with the words "She openeth her mouth with wisdo n, and in her tongue and in her language, the law of kindness."
