Daniel DeJarnette, Jr. moved from Prince Edward County to Lunenberg Co ., VA, and from there to Brunswick Co., where he lived a short time be fore going to Kentucky by way of Cumberland Gap and the BoonesboroughT race in 1795. He settled northeast of Richmond, the county seat of Mad ison Co., KY, in 1797, building an eight room log house with a seperat e kitchen and a stone milkhouse. Part of the old house is still standi ng.
Daniel married Judith Johnson, daughter of James Johnson and Susannah Payne, before 1777 in Lunenburg Co., VA. (Judith Johnson was born in Lunenburg Co., VA and died on Mar 17, 1838 in Madison Co., Kentucky.)
