From "Tidewaters of Virginia" Martha lived another 27 years after Dani el's death. Daniel had been only 42 when he died, and had left Marthaw ith children who were still under age. Martha made her will in Januar y 1780, and it was probated on March 16, 1782. She left legacies to he r son Christopher, and daughter Betty Ford Crenshaw. She also left leg acies to the children of her deceased daughters, Lydia Taylor and Mart ha Perryman. She stated that her other children, not mentioned, had al ready received their portions. She made her sons, Christopher Dejarnat t, the executor, along with her brother, Christopher Ford. Martha married Daniel DeJarnette, son of John DeJarnette and Mary Mumford, in Prince Edward County, VA. (Daniel DeJarnette was born on Feb 2, 1713 in Abingdon Parish, Gloucester Co., Virginia and died in 1755 in Nottaway Parish, Prince Edward Co., Virginia.) |
