Peter Cash Sr.

  General Notes:

Moved to Granville Co., NC with his parents in 1774 (as stated in hisR evolution War Pension Application). Granted a pension of $30 per yea r Nov 28, 1832.

After the war ended, he began to buy a great deal of land in Granvill e Co., NC, mostly in Dutch District along Cedar Cree. Existing record s indicate that he did not accumulate this land for farming, but rathe r did so as a business, as in each case he retained the property for o nly a short time and then sold at a considerable profit. By 1825 he h ad sold all but 73 acres, which he retained until his death. Left a p eculiar will in which he left his estate to "my friend Elijah Hester,t o be used for the benefit of my daughter Lucretia and my daughter-in-l aw Lucretia, wife of my son Peter, and after their death, to the heir s of their body." The will would seem to indicate that of all his chil dren, perhaps only Peter and Lucretia survived him.

Peter married Sarah Smith, daughter of Anderson Smith and Unknown, about 1780.
