Source: From Houchin Family Ancestry by Barty Wyatt, Prineton Times, P rinceton, W.VA. Buried in the Keaton Cemetary. He united with the Indi an Creek Baptist Church on the 11th of November, 1877. Clayton owned p roperty on Cooks Run and in the village of Springfield. Deeds are reco rded for the transfer of lots in Springfield to a John A. Halstead an d to Jacob Halstead in 1884. He had an advertisment in The Watchman fo r Summer boarders in 1893.
Clayton married Martha Jane Harvey on Jan 30, 1866 in West Virginia. (Martha Jane Harvey was born on Feb 27, 1840 in Greenville, Monroe Co., VA and died on Mar 28, 1915 in West Virginia.)
