From Mortality Schedule 1850-1880 lists a Katherine Houchins died Apri l 1850 of fever. Occupation: tailor. Age 42. I am guessing that this c ould be Catherine Houchins, as I know she died in 1850 in Mercer accor ding to the 1850 census, it states under Charles Houchins that he hasb een a widower for less than one year. Her age fits as well.

Catherine married Charles William Houchins, son of James Houchins and Mollie Harvey, on Jul 8, 1831 in VA. (Charles William Houchins was born in 1811 in Giles Co., VA and died in 1866 in Jackson Co., Missouri.)
