March 1990 Appalacian News, pg 2. contributed by E.J. Sutherland lette r from E. A. Dunbar, Abingdon, VA 1 August 1923 to his nephew Hon. R.E . Chase, Clintwood, VA says:
"first mistake is Grandmothers 6th child. There were only 5 children,D unbar children. That were in her home, at least PART of the time, a ch ild named "Ida", but it was Grandpa's half sister. After his fathersde ath, his mother married a man by the name of Dawson, they had only on e child named "Ida".
Mary married William or Joseph Dunbar. (William or Joseph Dunbar was born about 1745 in PA or VA? and died about 1794.)
