Benjamin and Susan settled in southwest Monroe Co., VA at the close o f the revolution. Susan had a brother William Ballard, who had servedi n the Army of the Revolution and after his discharge, he left his hom e on the Rapidian and after a short stay in Albermarle Co., he journey ed to Indian Creek with two horses, one cow and a few household goods , arriving at the home of Benjamin Harvey's in Christmas night, 1793.H e acquired no real estate. He left 9 children.
