Ann Carolyn Englund came from Wayne, KS after graduation from high sch ool to attend nurses training at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, Kans as. It was there that she met and later married Earl Downey. DuringW WII, Ann was a nurse at the North American Bomber Plant and then worke d with the Visiting Nurses Association. She was later the operatingnu rse for Dr. Emmerick Shulte and was in attendance at the birth of her adopted daughter, Patricia Ann Benison.
