Mann, Lewis J.; Pvt, Vawter's Battery/Co.C Enlisted 3/26/62 at Union,M onroe Co., WV. One record says hefurnished Kenley W. Mann as a substit ute, Had been a private in Lively's Co. 166th Militia. AWOL on 4/16/63 . Absent w/leave on 6/30/63 roll but another record shows two men deta iled on 6/23/63 to arrest him in Monroe County. Two more men detailed to arrest him in Monroe Co., 3/21/64. Admitted to Richmond General Hos pital #9 10/3/64. NF. Father James/mother Nancy W. Humphreys. Res. Mon roe Co. (Probably a brother of Granville Mann. Possibly married Nancy Crews, the wealthy sister of Archibald and John Crews, and had 3 child ren). Listed on 1860 census for Monroe County, WV as age 30, farmer, m arried to Nancy with 3 children.
