Eric Holmberg and his wife Christina, along with their son Charles, ca me to New York from Enviken, Sweden in 1884, according to grandson (Ge rald Holmberg, son of Victor Holmberg).
Wayne Register, 18 Dec 1886 - Eric Holmberg placed an ad that he had o pened a Boot and Shoe shop in McDonald's hardware Store. In this issue, it was printed: " Eric Holmberg who has been working on the section here for the last tw o years has been promoted to section foreman at Wymore." (KS Histor ical Society, Kansas Collection, Microfilm W 2704) (NOTE: We do kno w that Eric work on the railroad at different times during these year s and was moved to different locations -- thus, the children not all b eing born in the same town/city.)
