Emigrated to USA in 1860. A shoemaker Pehr Eric Boman (22 years old)e migrated from Bollnas to Kansas City in 1869. This Pehr Andersson, an d family would be who Henry Englund visits as stated in the Wayne news papers. Pehr would be an uncle to Henry by marriage. Name was change d to Peter Broden after ariving in the US.
Newspaper article provided by Olive Abrahams through Carolyn AbrahamsO tt of Florida: CLAY CENTER, CLAY CENTER, KANSAS, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER1 , 1958: Peter Broden built a log cabin in approximately 1878 on land he homesteaded six miles northeast of Clay Center. This was a landmar k in the Wiberg community. Three generations of Brodens have livedon this land.
A substantial residence stands beside the log cabin and has been the h ome of Mr. and Mrs. William Broden, and who have sold the home to thei r son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Broden. The William Brodens willl ive at 1321 Fourth St.
Peter Broden, uncle of William Broden, came to this country from Swede n. He took up a claim on the quarter section of land and homestead rig hts were granted him on Aug 15, 1876, the papers being signed by Presi dent Ulysses S. Grant.
Peter Broden built the log cabin, now being torn down, and lived in i t for 40 years. There was one room, 13x15, in the cabin. William Bro den chuckled as he said that his uncle could get along in one room bec ause he had never married.
The William Brodens moved on to the place to take care of Uncle Peteri n 1925, when he became ill.
