Family legend says that Thomas went hunting for food and never returne d. It was believed that he had been killed by Indians. After severalm onths, Nancy Thompson Cash and her baby, Warren, went to live with Nan cy's sister (believed to be twins and to have the name of Elizabeth). When Nancy arrived at the home of her brother-in-law and sister (Franc is and Elizabeth Fidler), she was ill, starving and destitute. Shesoo n died, leaving young Warren to live with his Aunt Elizabeth. He was raised as Warren Fidler. The Fiddlers had a daughter, Alsie, who late r married David Humphrey. Nancy married Thomas Cash, son of William Cash and Elizabeth Skinner, in 1753 in Virginia. (Thomas Cash was born on Aug 2, 1697 and died in 1782 in Essex Cty, VA.) |
