Azariah Crandall was a member of Dutchess Co., Militia, 3rd Regiment,c ommanded by John Fields. He was also a signer of the Articles of Assoc iation of Duchess Co., NY in 1775. (N.Y. and the Rev. p. 241).
Will of Azariah Crandall: Records of Duchess Co., NY, Vol. C p. 171, d ated August 14, 1808, proved March 29, 1808, in which he bequeathed pr ovisionally to his son Azariah, of he should ever remove to this count ry with his family. To his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Abraham Cook, t o his daughter Anna, wife of Thomas Cornwell, and his daughter Olive,w ho was given a room in the house as long as she is single. He gave hi s son Reed most of real estate and appointed him and son in law, Abrah am Cook and Thomas Cornwell executors. Witnessed by Ebenezer Carey, Th omas Noxon, and Jermiah Hoxton.
