Anderson Cash moved with his parents to Henry Co., TN in 1845 and the n to Hot Spring and Clark Counties, Ark.
During the battle of Helena, Ark on Jul 4, 1863, he lost three finger s from his right hand when struck by a rifle ball. He and his brother , Albert Alfred, were captured the same day and shipped on board the s teamer "Tycoon" to Memphis, TN. Albert Alfred was shipped on to Cairo , IL on board the "Silver Moon", but Anderson was held at the militar y hospital in Memphis and exchanged with other prisoners a few days la ter. He was discharged in May 1864 and returned home where he engagedi n farming with his brother, John, and his father. Anderson was a rura l mail carrier after the close of the Civil War and farmed with his fa ther and brother until his death.
Anderson married Missouri Elvira Johnson, daughter of Thomas W. Johnson and P. A. (Peggy) Bassett, on Sep 16, 1875 in Clark Co., Ark.
