(Partial Will) In the name of God Amen. I, John Shepherd of the Cou nty of Fluvanna, being at this time of sound mind and disposing memory , do make, constitute, and ordain this to be my last will and testamen t, in manner and form following: Imprimis, I give to my daughters Joa nna and Annis, one negro girl each, one feather bed and furniture, on e cow and calf, one ewe and lamb each, to be delivered by my executor s at their marriage or as they arrive at lawful age. I lend unto my b eloved wife, Mary Shepherd, the plantation and land whereon I now liv e (except my son Augustine Shepherd should go to Kentucky and be incli ned to purchase land in that part, then it is my will that part be sol d for him so as not to interfere with the plantation by my executors i n order for him to purchase land in that county) with all my stock ofh orses, . . . . . . .
NOTE: In the above will, the name of the wife is Mary. In the Indent ure of William Baskett, John Shepherds wife is Nancy and Mary's marrie d name was Dale. This is still in need of clarification.
John married Nancy Baskett, daughter of William Baskett and Mary PACE.
